An exploration in creating a memorable and cinematic expression for site visitors that translated for both desktop and mobile.
While data studies have proven that carousel (or slideshow) elements are not truly effective for messaging or promotion, I offered up two alternative treatments for them. In the iterations demonstrated in the first five images below, a carousel navigation element is utilized to alert the viewer that there is additional information available to them, which they can click through. This version displays only one messaging or promotion at a time, making full use of the hero area, which changes out text and imagery for each carousel “bucket.”. In the last image, I offer up a multi-column format with a static image so the viewer sees more information with less interaction.
